Authorities in Abu Dhabi have confirmed minor damage near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad) following the successful interception of a missile by the country’s air defence systems.

The authorities confirmed no injuries after the interception. Officials urged the public to rely only on official sources for information and to avoid sharing rumours or unverified reports.

In the early hours of Thursday, UAE air defences responded to missile and drone threats, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence. The ministry confirmed that its forces were actively engaging projectiles but did not specify their origin.

Since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict at the end of February, the UAE and other Gulf nations have faced repeated missile and drone strikes attributed to Tehran, in retaliation for ongoing US-Israeli military operations in Iran.

On Wednesday, the UAE reported the death of a Bangladeshi worker in Fujairah and the injury of an Indian national near a facility in the Umm Al Thuoob Industrial Area, both resulting from shrapnel following missile and drone interceptions by Emirati air defence systems.
