It noted that the necessary public health measures, including risk assessment, contact tracing and approved precautionary procedures, were activated in line with national protocols and international standards.

“No cases have been recorded in the UAE,” said the ministry.

The statement comes after authorities were informed about a traveller who had visited the UAE and was later confirmed to have Ebola after departing the country and arriving in Uganda several days later.

Officials clarifiied that the individual did not visit any healthcare facility in the UAE during his time

The ministry said that they are continuously coordinating with WHO and relevant international health authorities regarding the case.

The Ministry urged residents not to circulate rumours or information from sources that are not verified and to rely only on official channels for updates.
