BHM Capital Financial Services PSC, the leading financial institution in the UAE capital markets, has commenced operations on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) in Kazakhstan, becoming the first UAE financial institution to operate as a Market Making Member through the Tabadul platform. The milestone marks an important step in BHM Capital’s international expansion and reflects the growing connectivity between the capital markets of the UAE and Kazakhstan.

The milestone was celebrated through a joint virtual bell-ringing ceremony between the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Astana International Exchange (AIX), attended by BHM Capital’s senior management and senior representatives from both exchanges, marking the company’s entry into Kazakhstan’s capital market through the Tabadul digital platform.

The ceremony highlighted the growing cooperation between the capital markets of the UAE and Kazakhstan and the role of Tabadul in strengthening cross-border market connectivity, facilitating investor participation and expanding investment opportunities across participating markets.

By connecting to AIX as a Market Making Member, BHM Capital is expanding its capabilities beyond providing cross-border market access to actively supporting liquidity in international markets, contributing to greater market efficiency, deeper liquidity and increased trading activity.

As part of its market-making activities on AIX, BHM Capital has recently commenced market-making operations on the ordinary shares and Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) of National Atomic Company Kazatomprom JSC. Under the mandate, BHM Capital will provide liquidity to support trading activity in these securities.

Commenting on the milestone, Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of the ADX Group, said: “This milestone underscores the significance of connectivity in shaping the future of capital markets. Through Tabadul, we are transforming partnerships between exchanges into real market activity, enabling more institutions like BHM Capital to extend their expertise across borders, deepen liquidity, and unlock new opportunities for investors in both the UAE and Kazakhstan.”

Assel Mukazhanova, Chief Executive Officer of Astana International Exchange (AIX), said: “We are pleased to welcome BHM Capital as the first financial institution from the UAE to join AIX as a Market Making Member through the ADX Tabadul platform. Their participation strengthens the connectivity between our markets and brings additional expertise and liquidity to AIX. We believe this partnership will contribute to deeper market participation, broaden access for investors, and support the continued development of Kazakhstan’s capital market.”

Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser Al Mualla, Chairman of BHM Capital, added: “Becoming the first UAE financial institution to join AIX as a Market Making Member and commencing market-making activities for Kazatomprom is a significant achievement that reflects the UAE’s growing influence across international capital markets. It demonstrates the strength and maturity of the country’s financial sector and the ability of UAE institutions to extend their expertise globally, connect markets and create new channels for investment between the UAE and the world.”

BHM Capital’s entry into Astana International Exchange forms part of its broader strategy to build an integrated and expanding market-making and liquidity provision network across regional and international markets. Through Tabadul, the company continues to expand its capabilities beyond providing cross-border market access towards active participation in international capital markets.

The milestone demonstrates how collaboration between exchanges and financial institutions can transform cross-border market connectivity into tangible market activity, with BHM Capital now actively providing market-making services on Astana International Exchange.
