Dubai has once again announced flexible working hours for government employees during the summer months, bringing back its annual initiative that initially launched in 2024. Running from June 29 to September 10, ‘Our Flexible Summer’ introduces two working models that allow government entities to balance employee needs with operational requirements while maintaining business continuity. NEW YORK, 24th June, 2026 (WAM) — Gold prices fell to a more than seven-month low on Wednesday and traded below the key $4,000-per-ounce level, due to pressure from a firmer US dollar and growing expectations of interest rate hikes. The VFS Philippine ePassport Renewal Centres (PaRC) in Abu Dhabi (World Trade Center) and Dubai (Wafi Mall) will cease operations on June 30, the Philippine missions in the UAE announced on their official Facebook accounts on Wednesday. DUBAI, 24th June May, 2026 (WAM) — Dubai residents are playing an increasingly active role in documenting and understanding the biodiversity that exists across the city, with participation in this year’s City Nature Challenge growing significantly compared to 2025. Led by Terra, Expo City Dubai, the four-day citizen science initiative saw 172 contributors submit 2,344 observations of wildlife, plants, and other species, documenting a total of 506 species across the city. The results represent substantial growth compared to 2025, with species recorded rising by 55%, observations increasing by 71% and contributor participation growing by 37%. Sharjah’s population has risen to 2.13 million, recording a 51 per cent increase over the past decade, according to the results of the Sharjah Census 2025 announced on Wednesday. The emirate’s population now stands at 2,135,888, with males accounting for 67 per cent and females 33 per cent. Non-UAE citizens make up 89 per cent of the population, while Emiratis account for 11 per cent, the census showed.
